I love Bernat Blanket Yarn and have made several blankets with this yarn. It is thick, which makes it quick to use for large projects such as blankets. It is also warm and machine-washable, which are important for blankets. I generally use a size 6mm crochet hook for this yarn because I like making a tight stitch. In the past, I made several blankets using a size 10mm hook and a looser stitch, but now I prefer using a smaller hook and tighter stitch with this yarn. I enjoy using this yarn because it is high-quality, but it is expensive so I only buy it when it is on sale.
Pros:
-thick yarn so it is easy and quick to use for large projects
-available in lots of colors, patterns, and gradients
-soft and warm, so great for blankets
-machine-washable
Cons:
-expensive yarn, especially for making large projects such as blankets
-some skeins have lots of "manufacturer knots," which is such a pain because knots show us so much more in such a thick yarn
-sold at multiple places such as Michaels and Joann's, but different stores have certain "exclusive colors" which can make it hard to get the right color if you run out of yarn mid project
I have bought this yarn from Michaels, Joanns, and Yarnspirations (online). Here is the info about the yarn from Michaels:
