Indigo Shibori Dying
Here is a collection of clothes that I dyed using the Shibori method with indigo dye.
Shibori is a Japanese technique of binding fabric in various ways to get different patterns when dyed. Indigo dye is typically used with Shibori, so the resulting designs have various shades of blue or white. The color depends on how much dye reaches each part of the fabric, which is based on the folding and binding of the fabric before it is dyed. I have tried multiple techniques, such as wrapping the fabric around a wood pole, sewing stitches through the fabric and cinching it, wrapping it with wires, sewing beans into it, and clamping it between wood panels.
